Sports Stretching for Athletes: PNF (Proprieoceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation)

The May 7th Sports Stretching/PNF and May 14th Cupping III (ROM) classes will also BE HELD VIRTUALLY via Distance Learning by Jim Earley, LMT.
Students must have a person at home with them to work on in order to participate in the class.
The Class will be held over ZOOM and you will receive the login invitation in advance of the class.
Since this is an 8 hour class, it may be split into two four hour classes over two days, as it is unrealistic for participants to be expected to be online for eight hours.

Thursday, May 7, 2020 • 9am-6pm

This class will cover the following aspects of Sports Stretching: PNF STRETCHING (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) Upper and lower body.

Material discussed will include:

  • Types of Stretching/When to Stretch
  • Athletes and Stretching
  • PNF Stretching (Contract/Relax Stretching)
  • Active/Passive Facilitated Stretching

PNF stretching is an effective way to increase range of motion using facilitated stretching and resistance from the client. This provides a deeper stretch and self care for the therapist as well.
