Is massage therapy your path? The best way to know is to do it. Our Open House is modeled after a typical BIMMI class—lecture → demonstration → hands-on practice → end-of-day recap—so you can feel the flow of training and decide if a career in massage therapy is right for you. Participation is strongly encouraged—getting your hands on the table is the clearest way to gauge fit.
What You’ll Do
1. Mini-Lecture (1 hr): A quick history of massage, who LMTs serve, key benefits & major contraindications.
2. Guided Demo + Practice (2.5 hrs): Learn and practice an introductory Swedish sequence for the posterior body with step-by-step coaching.
3. Recap & Q&A (30 min): Talk with the Program Director about licensure, schedules, tuition, & next steps.

What to Wear/Bring
Athletic shorts & a tank/sports top (hair secured). Arrive 10 minutes early for check-in. We provide tables, linens, & lotion.

About New Jersey’s Premier Massage Therapy Certification Program
Our certification program at Body in Mind Massage Institute will help you succeed and thrive in the ever-growing massage therapy field. You will receive an extensive and inspirational education in the art and science of massage therapy as a student at BIMMI. We also provide competitive tuition prices as well as a variety of student financing alternatives to make going to school and changing your life even easier. Depending on your needs and interests, BIMMI offers a variety of flexible tuition payment alternatives, financial support opportunities, and job placement assistance.
At Body In Mind Massage Institute, we offer a flexible, high-quality massage therapy education tailored to fit your lifestyle. Our 600-hour Massage Therapy Program is designed to prepare you for a successful and rewarding career in just six months (full-time) or one year (part-time), with morning and evening class options available.
Program Breakdown – 600 Clock Hours
- Massage Theory and Practice – 250 hours: Two 5-hour sessions per week over 6 months
- Anatomy and Physiology – 250 hours: Two 5-hour sessions per week over 6 months
- Clinical Experience – 100 hours: Completed independently from the class schedule, at our on-site student clinic
Note: A clock hour consists of 50 minutes of instruction.
Class Schedules
Full-Time Program – 6 Months
Attend Monday through Thursday, choosing between:
- Morning Session: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Includes a half-hour lunch and scheduled breaks)
- Evening Session: 5:30 PM – 10:30 PM (Includes a half-hour dinner and scheduled breaks)
Part-Time Program – 1 Year
Attend two days per week (morning or evening), with the same daily schedule as listed above:
- Morning Session: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Evening Session: 5:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Note: this schedule does not include (4) mandatory modality-specific intensives (8-hours per intensive; CPR plus 3 modalities) or the 100 hours of hands-on clinical which will be scheduled outside of class time.

After meeting the requirements for graduation from Body in Mind Massage Institute, the School issues a Certificate of Completion. Throughout the final semester of the program, you will be prepped for the MLBEx, State of New Jersey massage therapy licensing exam, which starts the process of becoming licensed by the State of NJ. We offer coaching so you may confidently take and pass the MBLEx. We’ll also assist with navigating through the State’s licensing process, career placement and continuing education courses for maintaining licensure.
Earnings potential for a Licensed Massage Therapist is $30 – $50 (or more) per hour massage (including tips.) Full-time LMTs work 25-30 massage-hours per week, and part-time therapists even less. All shifts are IN DEMAND. You could be earning $750-$1,000, or more, each week, once you are licensed. Many massage therapy employers offer their full-time therapists added benefits such as paid time off, health benefits, and signing bonuses. Our Graduates usually recoup their tuition investment in about three months of working full time as a massage therapist!
