When you book your session, please note:

1

Digital Intake Forms

You will receive new pre-session health intake forms via our online, automated booking platform, that must be completely filled out as well as initialed in the appropriate boxes, prior to your session. No printed intake forms will be accepted.

If you have any problems filling out your digital intake form, you can arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to fill it out online while you wait for your appointment. NOTE: you’ll have to log on with your own email and password. Intake forms are mandatory and should be filled out with your complete medical history.

Client Arrival Procedures

Masks are not required on site any longer. Masks are used at your discretion. If you prefer having your therapist wear a mask, please indicate so at time of booking. If you have a temperature above 100.4°F, or have developed cold or flu-like symptoms or other symptoms suggesting illness, we will reschedule your massage session. We encourage you to sanitize your hands with the alcohol-based hand sanitizer kept at the front door. Please arrive 15 minutes early if this is your first visit with us and if you have not had a chance to fill out your intake form.

Client Follow Up Procedures

Massage practitioners are not authorized to share the health data of their clients without the client’s written consent. However, should you develop symptoms of COVID-19 within two weeks of a session, staff, faculty and/or practitioners are authorized to contact their local health department for consultation and guidance.

Booking & Cancellation Policy

LATE ARRIVALS: Your time is reserved specifically for you. Arriving late will deprive you of precious massage time - you will not be able to extend your appointment beyond its original scheduled time.

BOOKINGS: To reserve your appointment with either our Student Therapists or Licensed Therapists, you will be required to pay for your session in full at the time of booking. There are no exceptions. If paying via plastic BIMMI gift card, your gift card number must be given at time of booking and the plastic card must be surrendered at the time of your session. If paying via gift certificate issued through our booking platform, the certificate code must be presented at time of booking. Note that tax will be due in cash.

CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations must be received 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment to receive a refund or store credit. Cancellations within the 24 hour window will forfeit your payment. If you do not show up for your appointment without a cancellation, your payment will be forfeited. WE ARE UNABLE TO HONOR ANY EXCEPTIONS.

By booking your appointment with our therapists, you agree to our policies.

Massage for Clients Under the Age of 18

Minors (all clients under the age of 18 – unless otherwise emancipated) are permitted to receive massage in the clinic.

New Jersey Office of the Attorney General and the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs require that clients under the age of 18 must provide written consent of the client’s parent or legal guardian before any bodywork or massage services can be provided. Parent or legal guardian must be present in helping complete the Health History Form for the minor, along with consent for the massage therapy session.

For clients ages 15 and under, the client’s parent or legal guardian must be in the room while services are provided.

Appropriate draping will be used at all times during the massage; only areas being massaged are uncovered.

Zero Tolerance for Inappropriate Behavior

Just like at any other professional spa or clinic, clients should not ask therapists for their personal cell phone numbers, nor their email addresses, where students plan to work upon licensing, nor to come to their home to provide massage services. These all violate our Code of Ethics and are outside the rules and regulations that govern our profession. We ask our Students and Licensed Therapists to abide by and uphold the Code of Ethics and we ask that clients also honor the Institute’s Policies on Student Interactions.

The Institute has a zero-tolerance policy for overstepping boundaries with student and licensed therapists in any way, including becoming too attached or too comfortable where sexual innuendo and joking may be misconstrued as sexual misconduct which is totally illegal in our profession.

Student Clinic Policies

As a learning Institute, our students are required to work with as many different clients as possible during their student clinic experience. They are all well-trained and professional. Because our student clinics are so popular and are regarded as if the clinic was a professional program, there are certain things to bear in mind:

REQUESTS FOR SPECIFIC STUDENTS

We recognize that clients may want to request the same student for their next visit - however, we discourage clients from becoming attached to any one student.

On one hand, we believe it is a good experience for students to see a client more than once so, as their professional palpation skills develop and evolve, they can feel the difference in the quality of the client’s tissue. They will also see how their professional-level massage skills may be helping that client get to wellness and then maintain their wellness.

On the other hand, student clinics are designed to give students ample opportunities to work with as broad a variety of clients as possible. Working with different clients more frequently helps them fine tune their skills more effectively. Therefore, we limit requests for specific students to three sessions.

We recognize and attempt to accommodate clients’ requests for a particular student - as well as requests to NOT be scheduled with a particular student. However, we cannot ever guarantee clients will or will not receive their service from that student at that future scheduled visit, even if it was scheduled that way at an earlier date. Sometimes students' schedules change, for a variety of reasons, which requires us - to the best of our ability - to work around.

ADJUSTING YOUR APPOINTMENT

As mentioned above, sometimes a student's schedule changes for any number of reasons - and that may affect your student clinic appointment. When possible, we may reassign your appointment to another student. Please know that we run a busy Institute and sometimes do not have time to call clients in advance to advise that their scheduled future appointment is being rescheduled to a different student. Or perhaps the student does not have mastery over a particular modality you were hoping to experience. We can assure you that the student you receive your service from will be just as professional, compassionate and well-trained as the therapist that you may have requested.

If we must change student therapists, you will receive an email notification of the change, and have the option of calling us to find out the reason for the change. However, that does not guarantee you will receive the service from the originally requested student therapist. We do not guarantee any student, and do not discriminate against gender.

You are free to cancel your appointment (bearing in mind our cancellation policies) yet we ask you to trust all our students are excellent.

TRUST OUR PROGRAM

To give our students the best education, we structure our Student Clinic similar to a professional spa or clinic, at half the cost (or less) of services at professional clinics and spas. It might be easy for you to make assumptions as if you are receiving services at a high-end facility where your requests should be validated. The truth is that our Student Clinic is a learning sanctuary, providing students with real-life experiences and you with affordable wellness. We ask you to trust the process here in our clinic and know that everything we do has a reason and purpose, with our mission to help train the best massage therapists in the industry.

We recognize that our structure may not appeal to everyone and understand if you feel the need to move on. By booking your appointment with our student therapists, you indicate that you honor the Institute’s Policies while knowing we aim to give you the best Student Massage Therapist Experience in the State of New Jersey.
