Treatment-room rentals, office-sharing arrangements, and other opportunities for licensed massage therapists who want to operate their own independent practice. (NB: the massage therapist should be responsible for operating their own business, including their own clients, scheduling, fees, payments, taxes, insurance, and other business responsibilities, as applicable to their particular arrangement.)

Businesses Posting Opportunities
Before submitting a listing involving massage therapy, businesses are responsible for determining whether they are required to register with the New Jersey Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy as a massage therapy employer.
New Jersey requires employer registration for individuals or entities that employ another person to engage in massage and bodywork therapy, subject to applicable exemptions. Businesses should review the current requirements of the New Jersey Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy and obtain appropriate professional or legal advice regarding their particular arrangement.
An independent-practice or office-rental listing does not constitute a determination by Body in Mind Massage Institute that the arrangement is, or is not, an employment or independent-contractor relationship.
If you are offering treatment space to an independently practicing massage therapist, you should independently confirm that your proposed arrangement complies with all applicable New Jersey licensing, employment, tax, insurance, zoning, and other requirements.

We require the listing business to provide a current New Jersey Massage Therapy Employer Registration, unless an applicable exemption applies.
For independent-practice or office-rental opportunities, please clearly describe the arrangement, including the type of space available, rental terms, location, and what the therapist will be responsible for providing and managing independently (i.e., supplies, client scheduling, collecting payments, setting fees, insurance).
