Somatic Mindfulness – Grounding

West New York Campus: 2025 Dates TBD • 8:30am-5:30pm
Toms River Campus: 2025 Dates TBD
Presented by Fernando Rojas, RSMT, LMT, PhD

The Tragerwork Mindfulness workshops expose the massage therapist to mindfulness-based skills that can help potentiate their therapeutic competence by learning techniques based on Tragerwork principles. We explore the body-mind connection through somatic movement, aware touch, and shared mindfulness. These skills complement your massage treatments by: reducing or eliminating massage therapist burnout; preparing the client's body for deep work with less strain; developing, transmitting and sharing mindful presence. The basis of Tragerwork Mindfulness - Grounding, in particular, is the experience of grounding by promoting proprioceptive rooting for balance and stability. Feet, legs and hips, and their interconnection with the rest of the body, are the focus of this training.

Incorporating Fernando's teachings into your practice is a surefire way to elevate your clients' healing journey. Infuse your sessions with mindfulness techniques learned from his class, guiding your clients to connect deeply with their bodies and minds. By integrating somatic mindfulness into your massages, you can help unlock stagnant energy, release tension, and facilitate profound relaxation. I felt that! Trust me, your clients will thank you for the transformative experience!

July Graham Financial Consultant

Participating in this class after working in this industry for 20 years was a game-changer for me. It allowed me to approach each session with a renewed sense of presence and focus, and to be fully present for my clients in a way that I had never been before. The class taught me to slow down, to listen more deeply, and to really connect with my clients on a level that goes beyond just the physical. It also helped me to become more aware of my own body and mind, and to become more attuned to the subtle cues and signals that can often go unnoticed in the midst of a busy day. Overall, taking this class was a transformative experience that has helped me to become a better, more mindful massage therapist.
