Therapeutic Release: Myofascial and Neuromuscular Therapy Techniques for The Upper Body

In this live course we will look at some causes of acute and chronic myofascial pain in the upper back and neck and how we can assist the client in achieving relief. Presentation of myofascial trigger points and their referral patterns along with a step-by-step combination treatment plan of myofascial and neuromuscular therapy techniques that can be implemented in the treatment room the very next day. Muscles to be discussed are Trapezius, Rhomboids Major and Minor, Levator Scapula, Scalenes, Pectoralis Major and Minor. We will discuss contraindications, stressors, clinical characteristics of trigger points, and client self-care. We will revisit body mechanics and self-care for the manual therapist to ensure safe and effective delivery of deeper techniques while sustaining your career longevity. Primarily a hands-on course with some lecture so bring your massage linens and lubricants.
